My Students’ Performance on Test Report: Performance by Student Table

The Performance by Student table of the My Students’ Performance on Test report displays a row of data for each of a teacher’s students who completed the given assessment.

To access the Performance by Student table of the My Students’ Performance on Test report:

On the Performance on Tests report for teachers, select an assessment name, then select the Performance by Student tab.

Table 5 describes the columns in the Performance by Student table. The columns vary depending on the test. Adaptive test results do not include item-level data at this level. Summative test results do not include item-level data at all. If a column header displays for an item, you can click the score links in this column to modify the item’s score (refer to Modifying Scores for Machine-Scored Items in Reports). When a machine-generated score has a low confidence level, or when a condition code of Non-Specific or Uninterpretable Language has been assigned by machine, displays next to the score. It is highly recommended that you review scores flagged with this icon.

Column	Description
Student	This column includes the following rows: State: Displays aggregate data, such as mean average scores, for all the students in the territory who completed the assessment. These aggregates may be delayed depending on your territory’s policies, and may not be available for all tests. District: Displays aggregate data, such as mean average scores, for all the students in the district who completed the assessment. School: Displays aggregate data, such as mean average scores, for all the students in the school who completed the assessment. My Students: Displays aggregate data, such as mean average scores, for all your students who completed the assessment. [Student Name]: Displays data for that individual student. To access the Student Performance on Test report for a student, select the student’s name.
SSID	Student’s unique identifier.
Total	This column may contain the following sub-columns: Score: Student’s score for the whole assessment (or for aggregate groups, the mean average scores). Performance: Student’s performance level for the whole assessment (or for aggregate groups, the performance distribution).
5 Items on Which Students Performed the Best	Depending on the assessment, this column may display the five assessment items with the highest mean average score for the students shown, ordered by their sequence in the test. Item Numbers, Max Points and Points Earned: This sub-column is divided into further sub-columns. Each one displays the item number, below that the maximum score possible for the item, and below that the number of points the student earned for that item (or the aggregate groups’ mean averages of points earned). When you use the Standards Keys switch to show the standards to which items are aligned, standard keys appear below each item number. You can select the more information button beside each key or set of keys to view a pop-up legend containing the full text of each cluster (category of standards) and each standard.
5 Items on Which Students Performed the Worst	Depending on the assessment, this column may display the five assessment items with the lowest mean average score for the students shown, ordered by their sequence in the test. Has the same layout as 5 Items on Which Students Performed the Best.
[Reporting Category]* (multiple columns)	Displays student performance data for each reporting category. Each column contains sub-columns, which may include the following: Score: Student’s score for the reporting category (or aggregate groups’ mean averages). Performance: Student’s performance level for the reporting category (or aggregate groups’ performance distributions). Item Numbers, Max Points and Points Earned: This sub-column is divided into further sub-columns. Each one displays the item number, below that the maximum score possible for the item, and below that the number of points the student earned for that item (or the aggregate groups’ mean averages of points earned). When you use the Standards Keys switch to show the standards to which items are aligned, standard keys appear below each item number. You can select the more information button beside each key or set of keys to view a pop-up legend containing the full text of each cluster (category of standards) and each standard.
Writing Dimensions	Displays information on how a student performed on each writing dimension. Writing dimensions measure different aspects of writing performance. Contains the following columns under the Essay header: [Essay type]: An essay type in the test. [Writing dimension]: A writing dimension within the essay type, as listed in item rubrics, with the student’s score (or for groups of students, the percentage and number of students who earned each number of points).

*For assessments without multiple reporting categories, this column is labeled “Total Items” and displays data for all the items on the assessment.
