Overview of User Roles
The tasks available to you in the Standard Setting Tool depend on your user role. The following user roles are available within both the SSBM and SSAM modules:
- Administrators: These users set up the Standard Setting Tool in advance of the standard setting session. They determine which materials will be reviewed, which steps will be involved in the workflow, which users will be participating, and which room and table each user will be assigned to.
- Room Leads: These users control when a room of Panelists moves through each step of the standard setting process. They can also assign a Room Scribe role to a Panelist (more information below).
- Panelists: These users perform the standard setting. In SSBM sessions, they place bookmarks in an item booklet to indicate where the cut values between proficiency standards occur. In SSAM sessions, they map assertions to performance levels.
- Each table of Panelists also includes a Table Leader. However, this user does not perform any additional actions in the Standard Setting Tool.
- A single Panelist in each room also acts as the Room Scribe, setting the official proficiency standard cut values for the booklet.
- Psychometricians: These users review the Panelists’ work and analyze the data, providing feedback to the room.
- Observers: These users cannot perform any tasks in the Standard Setting Tool. However, they can view the booklets, feedback, and moderation charts available to Panelists.
