Each user in TIDE has a role and each role has an associated list of permissions to access certain features within TIDE. For example, a district-level user can perform activities related to uploading a PreID file, and a school-level user can view student information within his/her school.

The tables below describe TIDE’s user roles. The top row contains the various roles, and the subsequent rows indicate the permissions each role has for each function in TIDE, the Test Administrator (TA) Interface, the Florida Reporting System, and the PearsonAccess Next Reporting System. Within the table, the following acronyms are used to specify the associated user roles

Florida Statewide Assessments User Roles:

DAC (District Assessment Coordinator)—Accounts with this role have access to student information at schools within his/her district and can view student results in the Florida Reporting System and the PearsonAccess Next Reporting System. The DAC role can also create user accounts at the district and school level.

DA (District Administrator)—Accounts with this role have limited access to view information in TIDE and have access to student results in the Florida Reporting System and the PearsonAccess Next Reporting System for all students in their district.

DTC (District Technology Coordinator)—Accounts with this role can manage user accounts and student information in TIDE for all schools in the district but cannot view student results in the Florida Reporting System or the PearsonAccess Next Reporting System.

DRA (District Reporting Access)—Accounts with this role will only have access to the Florida Reporting System for all students within their district. Only DAC and DTC users can provide DRA access.

PSA (Private School Administrator)—Accounts with this role are assigned to private school administrators who manage assessments for their school. PSAs can manage school level user accounts, access student information in TIDE for their school, place orders, and view student results in the Florida Reporting System and the PearsonAccess Next Reporting System.

SAC (School Assessment Coordinator)—Accounts with this role are assigned to the school assessment coordinator. School Assessment Coordinators manage user accounts and student information in TIDE for their assigned school(s).

SA (School Administrator)—Accounts with this role have limited access to view information in TIDE and have access to student results in the Florida Reporting System and the PearsonAccess Next Reporting System for all students in their school.

SDE (School Data Entry)—Accounts with this role have access to the Data Entry Interface (DEI) but do not allow access to TIDE or the TA Interface. Only DAC, DTC, and PSA users can provide SDE access.

SRA (School Reporting Access)—Accounts with this role will only have access to the Florida Reporting System for all students within their school. Only DAC, DTC, PSA, and SAC users can provide SRA access.

TA (Test Administrator)—Accounts with this role have limited access to view information in TIDE and have access to view their student results in the Florida Reporting System. Test administrators need a TIDE account in order to access the TA Interface for operational testing.

AVA (AVA Test Administrator)—Accounts with this role have access to the Assessment Viewing Application (AVA) but do not allow access to TIDE or the TA Interface. Test administrators who will administer ELA Reading Retake tests to students with paper-based accommodations need this role assigned in addition to the TA role.

FSAA User Roles:

AAC (Alternate Assessment Coordinator)—Accounts with this role have access to student information at schools within their district and can view student results in the PearsonAccess Next Reporting System. The AAC role can also create user accounts at the district and school level.

APSA (Alternate Private School Administrator)—Accounts with this role are assigned to private school administrators who manage assessments for their school. APSAs can manage school- level user accounts, access student information in TIDE for their school, place orders, and view student results in the PearsonAccess Next Reporting System.

SLC (School Level Coordinator)—Accounts with this role have access to student information within their assigned school(s). The SLC role can also create and manage user accounts and student information at the school level.

BSLC (Basic School Level Coordinator)—Accounts with this role have access to view student information within their assigned school(s). The BSLC role can create and manage user accounts at the school level.

SA (School Administrator)—Accounts with this role have access to student information and user accounts within their assigned school(s). Unlike the SLC, the SA cannot create and manage user accounts and student information. Accounts with this role also have access to student results in the PearsonAccess Next Reporting System for all students in their school.

AAT (Alternate Assessment Teacher)—Accounts with this role have access to create requests, view requests, and assign a Reason Not Assessed. Beginning mid-January 2023, AATs will also be able to create requests to correct student information, such as updating student demographic information, adding or removing students, and indicating a change in assessment. Note: Prior to mid-January 2023, AATs will communicate student information requests with their SLC, if available, or directly to the AAC using secure individual district policies and procedures.

† APSAs can process test invalidation requests only.

‡ SLCs can process test reset requests and requests to reopen a test section (FSAA–Datafolio only).

§ Beginning mid-January 2023, submitting and viewing TIDE Correction Requests to student information will be available in TIDE. Prior to mid-January 2023, teachers will all communicate student information changes directly to the SLC or AAC using secure individual district policies and procedures.

FCLE User Roles:

SIA (State Institution Administrator) – State-level users (FCS or SUS) who will access scores at the state level for all institutions. This role will have the ability to add or delete Institutional Test Administrators at each school.

ITA (Institution Test Administrator) – One “school” will be established for each FCS or SUS institution (e.g., Broward College, University of North Florida). One user at each institution will be added with the Institutional Test Administrator role. This user is responsible for adding and managing users for the roles listed below them on the hierarchy (IR, CTC, TP). The ITA can upload student enrollment files (PreID files), view/add/edit individual students in TIDE, place orders for test materials (Spring 2022 and beyond), monitor test progress, create and approve requests (e.g., invalidations, re-open a test), create and manage rosters, print test tickets, administer tests through the TA Interface, and has access to data and can generate reports for all students within the institution.

CTC (Campus Test Coordinator) – This role will manage campus-based tasks such as viewing/adding/editing individual students through the UI (TIDE), printing test tickets, managing rosters, creating requests (e.g., invalidations, re-open tests), monitoring test progress, and accessing the TA Interface for administering tests. CTC can add TP users. This role can access data for their school and generate reports.

IR (Institution Reporter (IR) – This role has access to data and can generate reports for all students within the institution.

TP (Test Proctor (TP) – This role is mainly responsible for administering tests in the TA Interface. This role can also View/Edit/Add students in TIDE. This role has access to reports in order to print an individual score report for a student.
